It's a bit ironic, but I hated being photographed growing up. Half of my childhood pictures are of me scowling at the camera, or of me storming out of the frame. My middle and high school years aren't much better -- filled with embarrassing and awkward pictures that I hope never see the light of day again. I'm not exactly sure what changed since then, but photography has since become a major part of my life, and I can tell you why I pursue it today:

The Challenge. When I shot my first wedding, it was hands down one of the most challenging and stressful experiences of my life. Just about a million things need to go right with each click of the shutter. From behind the lens, all technical pieces that I can control need to be in place - the right camera settings, the exposure, the composition. Surrounding the lens, the scene must be interesting, free of distractions, with just the right lighting. In front of the lens, the couple needs to be at ease, relaxed and comfortable enough to trust us with one of the most significant moments of their lives. There are no do-overs in wedding photography -- everything has to be right the first time. I know that there is no such thing as the perfect picture, but it's still a goal that I can strive for.

The People. Whether they make a living flying helicopters for the military, or college students simultaneously planning their wedding and studying for finals, each of our couples have their own unique backgrounds and fascinating stories. Every groom has their story of their proposal gone awry. Every bride has their own elaborate vision of how they want wedding day to look like. But the one thing that we all share in common, is our complete and utter commitment to another person, and with each couple, I feel lucky to be able to document their own personal story.

My Wife. If I were to choose a single reason if why I love photography, is because it's one of the most important activities that I get to share with my wife. Photography is more than a hobby to us, it's the documentation of our lives together. It's the mutual help and encouragement that we give to each other. It's the healthy competition we have between us to get the "winning" picture. It's the the communication and teamwork involved that strengthens our marriage. And for every time that we have privilege to witness another couple begin their own journey together, wedding photography allows us relive one of the happiest days of my life, our own wedding.

San Jose Family Portraits : Jones Family

I just adore this family! The last time we photographed Olivia she was teeny tiny. Now, she’s a loving big sister to her sweet brother Ian. They grow up so fast! Ian, like his big sister when she was his age, is extremely easy going and didn’t cry once. We had so much fun catching up with our friends Sena and Rodney while capturing their cutie pie children.

Your automobile isn’t just a vehicle for taking you
from point A to point B; it is a major part of your life.
When you bought your first car you promised it by name
to take good care of it and love it forever, but things happen and life goes on.
Maybe there is a new car in your life, or maybe you still have the
old jalopy you first fell in love with, and you want to take better care of it.
You already give your car the best oil and fuel to take care of the engine in top condition,
but what do you do to keep the auto body in good upkeep?

When people think of a car body, they think it completely cosmetic, and so a lot will ignore it other than a wash and maybe a wax if they feel flashy.
Auto body shops do much more for a car than cosmetic treatment.
Other than the usual paintjob you can get from
an auto body shop, they also do repair work on scuffs, scratches,
    dings, dents, and even replacing bumpers and mirrors. Fixing your bumpers and mirrors at an auto body shop makes sense;
you need those to drive safely so they are not considered vanity, but what about scuffs, dings, and dents?

Depending on the position of the dents, they can actually
reduce highway gas mileage, and a car that’s owner looks like
they don’t care about it, then others won’t care about it like if they hit it in a parking lot with their car
door, since what is one more scuff?
A good auto body shop will make sure that the repairs done to the body of your vehicle will make it look like it did when it
came from the factory. Don’t settle for an auto body shop that will try and force unneeded treatments on you so they can make more money, and they can even go as far
to try and scare you into using them, citing car
insurance requirements and the like. Chose a reputable, honest auto body shop,
that will treat you fairly, and never push you to add any unnecessary repairs that you don’t need and don’t want; we believe you as a consumer have the fundamental right
to spend your money where you want.
If your car or vehicle is in bad appearance, it can affect the integrity and safety of the car, not just how good it looks.
When you realize you need to go to an auto body shop to fix your car’s body, don’t go with just
any store, and choose a reputable repair shop that has a reputation for fair and
    honest dealings.

Revealed: Secret to Reducing Air Conditioning Costs

Certain results indicate how each American household pay an estimate of $1000 for both heating and air conditioning systems every
year. Indeed there are very good ways to cut down on these expenses
without sacrificing the benefit of air conditioning during hot summer days in any way.
The true secret to reducing Air Conditioning costs lies in your maintenance
activities and making the right purchase of air conditioner units based on your needs.

Currently, there are 3 common kinds of air conditioners,
central, freestanding and window on the US market. Each kind has its own pros and cons.
Before purchasing any air conditioners for your home, there is something that
you need to understand. Not all the types of units on the market
require the same kind of maintenance.

Think about the possible utility and maintenance costs when you purchase your unit.
What is the cooling coverage that you truly need?
It may seem easy to install a centralized system for your entire house.
But the question is whether it is necessary.

Apart from the high expense of purchasing this system, there
are the possible high costs of repair and maintenance.
If you only want cool air in certain rooms because they are
the hottest in your home during a hot summer season, then opt for
the window or freestanding kind. The key difference between the
freestanding type and the window type is in terms of mobility.
You can move a freestanding air conditioner from one room to another easily enough.

Buying this type will be a great idea if you intend to rotate the usage of the
unit in different rooms. But if your mind is fixed on having a few units in specific rooms, then the window type might be a good option.
Since the window type would be up on the wall, it
would not take up space in the room like how the freestanding type would.
When it comes to the window type, you have the choice of selecting one that
    comes with or without duct.

Apart from being compact and small, the ductless kind is rather
easy to install on any wall. Compared to the one that comes with a duct,
it is also more energy saving. A good way to cool the temperature in the other rooms that have no air-conditioners is
to use oscillating fans. Another smart way is to purchase a
few 5 ton air conditioners to cover the space for your entire
house instead of buying a centralized unit.

But this depends on how large your home is. Apart from the cost of purchase, there is the expense for maintenance.
Normally, the cost of maintenance of a centralized air conditioning system is much higher compared to
the freestanding or window types. To reduce maintenance
costs, think about performing simple maintenance activities
    on your own.

For example, you can take a look at the filter and change
it if it requires changing. Normally, the frequency for changing
or checking the filter will be mentioned in the air conditioner manufacturer’s manual.
Some findings show that changing the filters can help in reducing
monthly utility costs by 10 to 20%.

Though it is fine to carry out a simple maintenance task such as changing a filter, it is
best to leave the more complex maintenance or
repair tasks to Air Conditioning Experts. Now and then, call them up to check on the state of your air conditioner units and do
what is necessary for their optimum working condition –
an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

The following step is to get your name out on the internet
in a variety of ways. That cost is, of course, worse than anyone ever dreamed of way back when President Reagan signed
the original order. Sometime in early winter, children who were
qualified for federally funded county special programs got treatment from clinic dentists.

Bentley Reserve Wedding : Teresa + Jing

It was obvious from the first time we met Teresa and Jing that they complimented each other just perfectly. Teresa has a smile that lights up the room and Jing really knows how to make her smile. From the simple things like the way he looks at her to knowing just exactly what purse she had her eye on for the longest time.

We were thrilled to be back to the beautiful Bentley Reserve for their wedding where every detail was planned to perfection. Aside from the gorgeous cake and flowers, the most noticeable thing was how much love was in the room for these two. We’ll never forget the energy that was exuded from the moment the bridal party entered the room and lasted throughout the night.

Sheraton Petaluma Wedding : Alex + Crystal

Alex was somewhat of a self proclaimed bachelor. That is, until he met Crystal and everything changed. While it seemed to family and friends that he wanted to always remain a bachelor, he really was just waiting for his perfect match.

Alex and Crystal compliment each other so well. She is sweet, down to earth, and spends much of her time caring for puppies who will one day be service dogs. He is charming, friendly, young at heart and has the best sense of humor. Together, they are so easy going and just happy to be together.

We have known Crystal and Alex for quite a long time. Our families have been celebrating Christmas together ever since I was six. So when we heard of their engagement and were asked to be their photographers, we were ecstatic and completely up for having more hang out time with them outside of our typical yearly gathering. As an added plus, we got to work with our other dear friends and an amazingly talented couple Chris and Tina from iDesign and Events who did an amazing job putting together all the flowers, DJing, and coordinating!

Alex and Crystal, we hope you had a fantastic time on your honeymoon cruise! Thank you for giving us the honor of capturing such a special day. We can’t wait to hang out again!
